On July 31st of 2011 I will be homeless in Charlotte NC. I have diligently looked for a roommate or affordable space so if anyone knows of anyone here in Charlotte who can help me please advise me. Currently I am in the WIT/Women in Transition program at the YWCA. It is a two year program. I was supposed to be out by April of this year and they have given me until July 31st. I lost my job in November 2010. Otherwise I would be in a better position. I am collecting unemployment while rigorously searching to be re-employed.
go to www.christadelphians.com -- always be positive praying to God about your circumstances as you work through them. He will guide you so don't be sad. Look for your best options. I lived in the Atl for many years so I know there is free counseling available in Georgia. Find a church who will gather and pray for you as well. I have no doubt it will get better. My situation is also dire but I am trying to remain positive and do all of the things I just advised to you. They have always worked for me. So I have no doubt they will work for you, too.
You may want to speak with a bankruptcy attorney, or contact www.modestneeds.com or it may be www.modestneeds.org. I cannot recall
Normally I am a person who would rather be in a position to assist those in need, or those who really just need a new start on life financially. However, today I went online because my finances have become extraordinarily unbearable for me. After working for 17 years I was forced into a layoff with a great company where I loved to work and would have never left. They offered me a package which soon ran out b/c I was sending my son off to college as all of this was occurring in my life. That was in 2005. Fast forward I began to have a financial but I am a positive person so I continued to do what I needed while trying to work it out. I left the city where I lived in order to move to a different city, Charlotte NC. Landed a job with a company, left that company for a better paying job and loved it then they laid me off, too. My reason for humbling myself to write here is that I have a situation which is not my fault. I drive a 2003 Saturn Vue and the transmission has been recalled on the vehicle. I did not know this when I bought the car. The transmission is now gone. GM is willing to buy me out of the car but the stipuatlation is that they have to put me into a new one. This is part of the callback procedure. Because I am out of a job I have no check stubs to show the banks in order to be approved for a new vehicle. I need help or advice on what to do here. I have done everything I have been asked to do. I need my car to get to a job as I have been diligently searching. I did find a contracting job but b/c of the transmission issue I have not been able to get to the accounts they have sent to me. Please respond if you can help me.
